Today, me n Yuan became my friends Cappy n Angeline's 'saikang warrior' aka 'lady butler' for their Gundom OO shoot! I haven't stalked a shoot for quite a while... so had quite some fun! Although i wish Malaysia is less hot. The real pikafuwa shots will come later from our faaaaaabulous photogs KC and Raz. Meanwhile here's some 'behind the scenes' shots.
Preparation time. The gazillion fans are sponsored by our gracious madam Tieria.
Lady Butler hard at work.

TRC - Kurogane Work in Progress - part 3
Technically Kurogane's costume was completed before, but it got damaged during last Anicom, so now i'm trying to fix + upgrade it.
Cutting away the damaged part of the top. We'll be making a new one for that.
Front view of the top. Slowly adding details. We'll head to the city/shop to add the studs on Monday.
Dismantled the shoulder armor. We're adjusting it making it smaller.
Remaking the pieces of the shoulder armor. Have to wait till Monday to send to the shop to sew it since sadly my sewing machine is not GAR enough to sew through vinyl+leather.
Made Tomoyo's flying sash thing she always has around her arms. Totally forgot about it earlier!! LOL~ We'll reinforce it with metal wires later when it's time to wear it. It's easier to pack+transport it as it is now.
Tomorrow i'll be stalking my friend's Gundam00 photoshoot! Stay tune for stalkerish photos next update!!! Teehee~

TRC - Princess Tomoyo Work in Progress - part 6
The mirror was dismantled by Yuan.
Then the frame is painted with gold acrylic.
Attach the strings and 'gattai' everything.
Add the detailing using gold 3d paint....and the mirror is done! Interesting fact: the mirror has two sides and it's flippable. 1 mirror shows you your normal reflection, and the other mirror will show you into other dimensions. <3 just kidding.... the mirror is a magnifying mirror, so the only other dimension you could see is up into your 'lubang hidung'.
Plaiting the side hip dangling accessories thing we lovingly named 'dingdongs'. <3
The dingdongs are done!!! And technically Tomoyo's costume are COMPLETELY DONE!!! yay~ \o/\o/

TRC - Kurogane Work in Progress - part 2
The 'virgin' katana made from wood, before all the modifications. Removed the Tsuba and Ito.
Bending the metal wires to make the 'skeleton' of the dragon head.
Painted the blade silver and making the handle scales using craft foam.
Cut the Tsuba shape from cardboard and add detailing using lightweight clay.
Sculpt the dragon head using lightweight clay.
I now present you the old Golden dragon and his new Trap Waifu. You may kiss the (trap) bride.
Painted the whole thing and it's done~!!
Closeup on Trap Dragon. Why trap? Coz she has mustache. <3 id="gwProxy" type="hidden">

TRC - Princess Tomoyo Work in Progress - part 4 & Stage Props - part 1
The cloth+interfacing pattern was sewn, cut and combined together to make the top. Then lace was sewn onto it for the line detailing.
The skirt pattern was also sewn to make a complete full circle skirt.
Added the zip at the back.
Sew the top and the skirt together and we have the complete dress! <3 This is the back view.
And this is the front view.
Made the sleeves for the inner top using leftover laces.
As we were working on the costume, we also brainstorm and draft for our skit (should we do it in the future). Recently before this we were experimenting on the usage of light and shadows based on the concept of Malaysian 'wayang kulit'.
It was really quite interesting! Despite the venue itself won't allow us to have a proper total darkness to maximise the potential of the light-shadow concept, we still roughly manage to pull it off. And we're hoping in the future we could do this again with lots of improvisation and modifications..... like for example a bigger spotlight and total darkness stage area.
We're thinking of, for example, using the flashback scene since it gives a more dramatic and surreal feel to it. And add some detailing on the screen itself instead of pure white from before. Maybe moon designs... bamboos... cloud motifs.... hrmmm....
In addition to that we also want to add the usage of UV-light effects. tried and tested.... UV-lights gives out the effects of making dark colours really dark (almost invisible) and light colours (like white) really pops out even more! Something like this.... (image googled, not mine)
So it gives a nice effect for a flashy or floaty-dreamy concept.... which suits Tomoyo's role as a dreamgazer walking through dreams and Kurogane's flashy moves which CLAMP so like to make it so fuwafuwaaaargh~
With that concept in mind we could depict Kurogane's ultimate sword slash moves (Hama Ryuuoujin) in a sense the 'dragon' seems to be alive and floating! Using white dragon motif on black screen.
Alternatively we could use the concept of Chinese Dragon Dance (usually found during Chinese New Year festival in Malaysia) by making a paper mache dragon head and trailing cloth as the body. The movements will be controlled by black pole hold by all black person. The pros will be the dragon actually moves. The cons would be the amount of space taken for the 3D head so it's hard to transport.
And finally the key scene in the Kurogane-Tomoyo relationship, which is the time Tomoyo send Kurogane off to the other dimension, to Yuuko. We're still brainstorming on how best to depict this best, and so far we only have the idea of making magic 'tentacles' falling onto Kurogane, based on the concept of a 'fishermen-setting-net-over fishes'. LOL~ That way we could use the screen we used for the light-shadow effect earlier. (Waste not i say!) Still up for debate obviously.
Well the ideas are there but to execute it we need a proper stage area with black background and a venue that let us off the venue lights to give us total darkness. sadly Malaysia never had that kind of venue/event for cosplay skits, so HOPEFULLY if given the chance we can execute this at AFA-regionals. HOPEFULLY. Otherwise this goes down into my 'ideas to execute' box for future use.
