Presented by Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and Asia’s premiere anime and youth entertainment TV destination Animax, ‘Animax-HKTB Hong Kong Halloween Treats’ is headlined by a regional cosplay contest which will send three of the best cosplayers and bloggers from across Asia on an all-expense-paid trip to Hong Kong in October 2010 for the Halloween Party of their lives!
Open to Animax viewers in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines, cosplayers can upload pictures of themselves in their costumes to contests@animax-asia.com (with name, age, contact details) and share why they want to go to Hong Kong, from 10 – 24 September 2010. These entries will then be featured on the ‘Animax-HKTB Hong Kong Halloween Treats’ microsite to be voted upon by Animax viewers across Asia from 25 September – 6 October 2010.
In addition to viewers’ votes, Animax and HKTB will review all photo submissions based on accuracy and authenticity of the contestant’s appearance based on the original character, as well as creativity and originality of their reasons for wanting to visit Hong Kong.
The top three most-voted cosplayers will win return flights to Hong Kong, hotel accommodations, as well as entry passes to the exclusive Halloween Party on 16 October 2010, where they will party the night away with celebrity blogger Danny Choo and celebrity cosplayer Ani-mate Alodia Gosiengfiao!
In addition, a region-wide blogging contest is also being held in conjunction with the cosplay contest, where the best three blog entries will see the bloggers also win the same all-expense-paid* trip to Hong Kong to join in the fun at the Halloween Party!
Specially for Malaysian cosplayers, they may submit their entries from 3 – 12 September 2010 to contests@animax-asia.com (with name, age, contact details) as early birds, and stand to be invited in costume to the Animax-HKTB Hong Kong Halloween Treats preview party in Kuala Lumpur, and receive an exclusive goodie bag with Animax and Fairy Tail premiums worth over RM100.
Bloggers need only to creatively share on their blogs what are the cool and fun activities in Hong Kong during the month of October, as well as highlight the regional cosplay contest to stand a chance to win! AFA’s Regional Cosplay Championship is back!
Anime Festival Asia will once again host its wildly anticipated Regional Cosplay Championship at this year’s AFA X! Last year’s championship saw over 5,000 attendees, with at least 70 cosplayers spanning over 30 teams. Regional Cosplay Championship is arguably one of the largest cosplay competitions to be held in Southeast Asia!
The top cosplay team from each participating Southeast Asian country will be sponsored by AFA X to compete in the Regional Cosplay Championship during the two-day anime festival where they will perform and be judged by a panel of distinguished guests from Japan and around the region, which includes internationally renowned cosplayer KANAME☆.
At AFA X, KANAME☆ will also conduct a closed-door panel session for cosplayers to learn more about cosplaying at anime conventions by sharing useful insights from his rich personal experience.

PERSONAL NOTE:
Anything regarding my cosplay has been on hold for quite a while now for Hari Raya preparations n celebrations. Now i guess i need to restart my engines. ^^; i feel rusty.
I'm planning to register for AFA with Yuan with our Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. It's not the most flexible nor fuwafuwa characters we have... but it succumb to the "make own costume or deduct marks" criteria.... so it'll have to do. I'm going to make whole outfit of new other version of Tomoyo and remake whatever parts of costume that died during anicom of Kurogane. Suicidal wish much huh?! We'll work hard together-gether!! \o/\o/ And i need all the help i can get from my dearest extended family and friends!! Plz plz plz help us! GO GO GANBATTE US!!! hohoho~
I'm still not sure about joining the animax-HK comp. Found out rather too late... plus i hate the mass voting system. i kind of predict a good portion of winners will be Singaporeans (coz they have strong fanclub support system) or Philippines (coz their cosplays are crazyawsmvomitworthy). So yeah... i'll give this a pass. =P
Today's world is growing very rapidly. Everyone wants to look good. In this case cosplay outfit has a perfect balance between the lace and the open part. it gives you personal satisfaction. it has a wide variety of costumes.
