Anicom week 2

Yuan n i promised each other that we will work hard together to go to AFA together. Now that we can afford to get her a new passport... we're 1 step closer~ =)

Last weekend was anicom week 2. Like i said before, i joined in armed with some srsbsns skit from Umineko with my partner Battler. I edited my sound files on Saturday morning and Yuan came to my house in the evening for stay-over n late night practice (need to wait for my family to sleep first DX ). Our costumes n props were done earlier so we had a early rest and woke up late.

We arrived at Sg Wang early to assemble our props and adjust the light source with DA's help (altho in the end i would hv preferred the light to be lower coz i looked so dem short but oh well). Narukids was there too getting ready for her first solo skit. Also Yukito who is helping her... and helping us too. Prep time seems to fly so fast and we only managed to have our one and only practice session about half hour b4 the competition start. Oh did i tell u we picked the 1st number to perform?! Lucky yeah... ^^;

i gotta admit i was very disappointed with my performance this time. My partners were awsm! Battler was awsm and was ever so sensitive to react accordingly to my every move~ and yukito (the shotagoat) although we practiced only for a while, managed to pull off his role wonderfully! it just that i felt i overdone mine a bit coz i seem more angsty than mean... more mad than psycho. >= put too high a standard for myself i guess. And in the middle of the skit our chair went MIA (altho Yuan quick-thinkingly sat on the floor instead but still WHO THE FARK MOVED OUR CHAIR??!!) and i mis-aim-ed my blood spray to the dj ppl at the side instead to only on my screen-props (I'M SO VERY SORRY!!! thank god it's only buncho...) and i wanted to 'troll' jared but the floor got ppl blocking so i 'troll'ed hanzo instead oh the poor thing .... and and i gotta walk barefoot coz i sumhow twisted my ankle wearing my heels during practice. Also... i screwed up the Q&A session big time. What a freaking nightmare~!!!! DX

Me and yuan sat at the side and enjoy the show from the rest of the contestants when we're done. They were really really good!! i was so proud how seamless and cute Narukid's skit is (Yukito got bitchslapped.. oooh FTW!!) and Yuxuan's Code Geass team skit is so artistic and cool!! Sparda-Zend RE combo is so funny! So is ZcDave's God of Gambler (and Yuan was kind enough to translate for me <3 ) altho i like Mr.Indian-pirated-DVD in there more. Xajin's Tamaki was pretty sweet but i was hoping for more dramallama. Kuroshitsuji has an interesting concept but sorely lacking Sebastian. Kagura vs Road is cute. Overall it's pretty interesting altho i expected a lot more participants this week. What happened yo? But i was exhausted and pissed at myself and the smiling kunkun and when it's nearing the end all i could think of is for it all to just end so i could go somewhere and maybe just cry in Yu's arms....

...but then they announced that i won...

...my mind n heart are not prepared...

...WTF IS THIS SHIT??!!

... i can't exactly remembered what happened that time.... but Yuan was smiling so all is good?! We had a blast cleaning up the blood-splattered wall after the event ended hahaha~ <3 So like enough ramblings and on with the pics~

GAMP and Anicom week 1

So yesterday i went for GAMP at IMU Bukit Jalil (so far~) due to peer pressure on Saturday. i couldn't comment much on it since i arrived late and left early. Only had enough time to mingle and tease my friends.... but i heard it was an ok event so kudos to organizers!


Ezli candidly caught me emo-ing from boredom. #>o<# but the shot is nice!

Yuan was there to keep me company (when she was not raping sum vocaloidboiz hoho) so it wasn't that bad. =)

That night we 'gatecrashed' a dinner with the Reno-Dai-Solomon-Sean-etc gang at this Mexican call Frontera and OMG THE FOOD THERE IS SO DEM YUMMY!!! i will definitely go there for an occasion-meal next time! <3 Then we got back home and continue stressing over costume fix and skit-practice (or lack thereof) till morning come. Oh and my bed BROKE from me n Yuan's combo-breaker that night. Don't ask.

We arrived at sg wang around noon on Sunday with a car-ful of props. Wayang tebar n magic-tentacles n fans n pillows n sword whatwhatwhat... i'm amazed it could fit in lol~ I had this 'idea' of getting a Malay dance skit done for quite some time already.... and i'm so happy n blessed that Yuan is willing to help me out realize my dream. i chose Puteri Gunung Ledang and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles coz it seems to make sense... idk...whatcha think?! ANYWAY!! We were quite panicking over the fact they had big stage at the venue area when a week earlier the organizer said there was no stage!! So we tried to set up our props according to stage layout....and then go change into costume... and then last minute practice at some back alley with Narukid's help. When we got back there was so many ppl!! OMG zcdave is a mona lisa trap! And xajin was doing his epic Grell thing! And Camelliargh!! gosh i had 'stress' written all over my face! And then realised the stage area SUDDENLY SHRUNK!!!! AGH!! So when my turn comes we just 'do it'. The position of wayangtebar-me-lightsource was slightly distorted but we tried our best!! And wow i forgot so many of my supposed dance moves~ and my precious antennae that Yuan made broke! And Kurogane's top teared off! And in the middle of skit the sword blade FLEW OUT!! AAAAH!!!! \o/ But but... i just flail flail away what i forgot anyway~ and my amazing Kurogane covered up the blade-mishaps with some quick thinking kickass moves! <3 I am sooo thankful it went well despite everything! And the spectators continuous support throughout! Thank you very very much!! i hope you enjoyed our skit! *bows*

I managed to watch some skits after ours... and maaaan i was won over by Grell's awsmness (but obviously) and Dai Spammers Mona Lisa skit of pure crack n win!! You guys made this anicom LEGENDARY!!! Even though i didn't win... and was quite dissapointed coz i let someone down... i bounced right back up in happiness when my friends constantly supporting me and be their awsm selves!

Vocaloid Magnet n sum ARGH moment

We finally finished our epic-troll Vocaloid-Magnet shoot! Again with noob lighting in an indoor shoot in addition to store-bought dresses and borrowed wigs (Ghetto over 9000 yo!) Thank you Mieko and Dai for lending your precious wigs! Thank you ikki for being our demgeng #1 multipurpose photographer-helper-lighter-saikang-warrior-whatever-that-is. Thank you CF peeps for sparking out the 'magnet' idea. Thank you Cappy for being such awsmsauce buddy *A* Luka!! <3 So far ikki edited 2 pics.... enjoy!


It was a quick(?) shoot full of lol moments~ Unfotunately in the middle of the shoot my gigapowa-spotlight fell and DIED!!!! And i was planning to use it for my anicom skit this weekend!! GAH!!! i was so depressed i zoned out and went to my inner happy place QwQ But hopefully i could get a replacement or fix it later today. So much to do still for anicom! 3 costumes 3 skit scriptmaking and hunting voices from friends and record editting and each skit with their own set of props.... my sanity is going bzzbzzBZZZ!! Who said cosplay is easy ha?!! plz bear with me Yuan, Kids, Ikki, all CF msn peeps!

As u can see... August will be a hectic month cosplay-wise. Who here will be going for all of it?! Hahaha~ X___X For me i might skip GAMP and TAF since i'm going for all 3 of anicom. Feels rather bad though... i DO wanna go GAMP coz Yuuko-sama organized it and all with her awsmtasticmagic but... i dunno. Anicom requires a lot of my free time preparation-wise.

Week 1 i'll be bringing back my Tomoyo (coz i never did enter a comp with it) alongside my Kurogane <3 This 1 takes the cake for being the hardest to prepare...since i'm doing something i haven't done in a very VERY long time.... but i wanted to do it coz i'm just crazy that way ahaha!! Not to mention i gotta dig up my costume from storage and there's a LOT of fixing+modification to do. Thankfully Kurogane is helping me in that part. ^^;

Week 2 we'll be seeing my good friend NKDF debuting her first solo skit entry! And ikki being a helper for the 2nd time ever. i'm pretty excited to see!! <3 My own skit will be quite um...normal. Bringing my Beatrice for the sake of attending and an excuse to cling onto my Battler ahahaha~ *bricked* Thankfully this costume is outside and still in good shape from previous photoshoot.

Week 3 NKDF and i will gattai again and be our Syiok-Sendiri-self in our Chibits SSTeam! We aim to troll and hv fun yo! Wooho~ \o/ This 1 also requires a lot of prepwork... especially for my part (dangit). And another costume i need to dig out+fix. This costume suffered a lot of damaged from previous wear.... it's Sumomo after all. So even though i wanted to go GAMP and TAF... it just so happens they are on the days b4 i 'die'. And to top it all... i'm fasting at that time. >= I hope the events go well~!! Ganbatte organizers!!


Photoshoot wise... we plan to not do any on fasting month so we're rushing to complete backlogged shoots now... especially the *coughcough* ones. Last week we had the Battler-Beatrice shoot done! I truly love this pairing!! And i'm blessed with such a hottie Battler~ <3 Ikki was our photographer cum helper....You're extremely awsm m'dear ikki! <3 Battler and Beatrice pretty much felt like cooked-chickens-in-an-oven from the multiple heat/light source but i'm glad the shots turned out pretty ok. We are noobs in indoor photography with lack of proper gadgets.... but that won't stop us anyway! \o/ For the love of the #1 OTP in umineko and cosplay yes!!

When Beato is the 'seme'. I like this shot! But I'm totally not happy with my wig coz the style came out different from the one i ordered argh!!! And it was made in such a way that i can't restyle it... so i'm sorry for the weird do fellas. OTL

This week we'll be doing a shoot we co-named ' The Real Magnet' shoot. Another noobjob so hope it'll turn well enough! I still haven't finished making the costumes for it though ahaha~ X___X


Anyway, I stalked a few skit-vids on youtube and still pondering on how they make that kind of mechanism. What do u think?

Ghetto Scythe from Pandora Hearts

Before anything i would like to tell everyone that this is NOT the correct way for making a scythe and i DO NOT recommend you to do it this way! I made this in a rush so i skipped a lot of things and ghetto-ed it a lot so the end result is not nice. Also i did not refer to any references! i just 'hentam sajalah' all the way. But hey we all learn from mistakes, right?! =P Also sorry for the not-so-clear photos. My digicam is not gar enough for indoor night shots.

PROJECT: Scythe for Oz Bezarius (Pandora Hearts)
DURATION: 1 night (about 6pm - 7am with lil naps here n there)
TOOLS: paper, boxboard, knife, polystyrene, pva-glue, papertape, masking tape, toilet paper, pvc-pipes, wiring tape, spray


#1 I started out by drafting out the pattern on a big piece of paper.


#2 Then i traced and cut out the shapes on boxboard. Made 2 pieces of the whole thing. Pay attention i draw a smaller scythe design inside a bigger design.

#3 Traced, cut, and pasted the smaller syth design made out of polystyrene onto the boxboard. Each polystyrene i pasted on the different side of each boxboard (remember there were 2 pieces?). Then i masking tape from the polystrene edge to the boxboard edge, creating an angled 3d blade-edge. Afterward i paper tape the whole thing.


#4 all done paper-taping! letting it dry while i zzz~*

#5 Now each piece of boxboard i cut into 2 at an angle... both at different angles... so that later when we combine...


#6 ... it sticks together like jigsaw puzzle, get it?!

#8 Then i cut a 'drain' into the inner side of each boxboard and bury the upper part of pvc pipe in it.


#9 the outside part i use toilet-paper and masking tape and then paper tape it so it has some texture+dimension.

#10 don't forget the handle! must add texture! i use pvc pipe covered with rope covered with masking tape covered with box tape.


#11 i glued together the opposite piece of the boxboard-blade... so now the 4 pieces became 2 pieces! And the handle is another piece... so we have a 3-piece-jigsaw-puzzle-scythe!

#12 see the 3 pieces? Then me and deidara spray-painted it with brown and gold colour (thank u deidei~). i put metal pipe inside the pvc pipe for additional support.


#13 Gattai!! <3

#14 final finished product... posed by our lovely Alice@NKDF. Very big, yes?! Wen helped in carrying it to the event (thank u!). Unfortunately some 'mishaps' happened after AFA so i had to leave it at Singapore. Hope it will be a good recycled product to the environment.

By right (according to my props-mahaguru) i should have add layers of resin or plaster and sandpaper it b4 spray painting to make it smooth... but i didn't. And i'm suppose to carve the blade properly and also let the glue dry out longer... which i didn't. Hence why the scythe blade is a bit distorted and crumpled. So next time it's best to make a prop way waaaaay earlier instead of the night b4 flying off to Singapore, ok?! ok??! =P

Hi Everyone!!! \o/

This is Sky, one of the many many cosplayers that exist in wee-lil-Malaysia. I've been cosplaying for a few years and enjoyed it very much! Some costumes i tailor-make and some costumes i self-make... but wherever it came from i love my costumes very much! And i love joining in skits and competition especially with my friends... who fortunately mostly are as crazy as me. The wonders of cosplay, eh?! Brings us all together~ <3 striving to become better cosplayers and having kickass fun at the same time.

Some have suggested for me to post up WIPs for quite a while now. Well, I am happy (and a wee bit orz) to announce that this is going to be a blog on all the cosplay-related adventures i go through. The mistakes the success the troll the end results. i promise i'll keep my raging rants to my minimum and throw it in my FBs instead teehee~

I will be honest with you, I have never been a big fan of blogs. But i'll try my best to keep this one alive! And post pictures~ pretty or not. I'm still learning the basics of the blogsite (like...how do i post pictures in this? how do i post website links? help me~*sob*) so plz bear with me!

I hope that through the blog people can get the most recent information and I am looking forward to any comments or suggestions, particularly from those among the cosplay community! I love to make new friends from all over the world! Plz be my friend?! =D
